Our goal is to carry the warm, vibrant energy of the second floor into a new chapter, refreshing the space while preserving every bit of its fun, quirky character.

The Edwardian Arts and Crafts movement, which flourished approximately between 1901 and 1910, represented a transition toward clarity and traditional craftsmanship following the elaborate ornamentation of the Victorian era. It emphasized the beauty of natural materials and the "honesty" of construction.

Inspired by the welcoming family homes created by Amy's grandmothers, we are restoring the craftsmanship of the Woman's Century Clubhouse using the softer colors and fabrics of the era.

Once our renovations are done (target: August 2026), we look forward to welcoming you as our guest!

PRESERVING HISTORY

Restoration Timeline

Phase 1: Purchase, Planning & Preparation

After purchasing the Woman's Century Clubhouse in June 2026, we will build renovation plans for the AirBNB located on the second floor and make preparations to begin the reno.

Phase 2: Demo Day

By early July, we will be demolishing the parts that need to go, and preserving the parts that will remain.

Phase 3: Restorative Woodwork & Plaster

Our skilled woodworker Gordon will spend the first part of July repairing and replacing intricate moldings and woodwork, reviving the Clubhouse's Edwardian charm. This includes stripping years of paint from many of the doors and brass fittings.

Phase 4: Old Kitchen Newly Reimagined

While most rooms in the second floor will not change, during July, the kitchen is fully reimagined, making room for a table and chairs, and relocating many of the modern appliances behind cabinet doors.

Phase 5: Interior Finishes & Textiles

During August, we will update the interior with treasured antiques and family pieces blended with new period-appropriate fabrics and softer colors inspired by early 20th-century Arts and Crafts family homes.

Phase 6: Projected Grand Opening

Final staging and landscaping will be completed in August 2026, ready to welcome you into the refreshed Clubhouse in September!
